Take a Trip to Tottenham

Tottenham is located in the London borough of Haringey, about eight miles north of central London and five miles northwest of Camden. It is well served by buses, the London Underground, and British Rail services.

The area is dominated by Wood Green Shopping City, a large shopping centre. Here you can find chain stores such as Boots, WH Smith, Pearsons, and Ottekers while there are also more than a hundred different specialty stores including some that are unique to Shopping City. It also houses a market with about 60 stalls selling a wide variety of goods, from food to home decorations, with a craft fair being held here four times a year. Alternatively, go and enjoy a film at the centre’s 12-screen multiplex cinema.

There is a wide variety of restaurants, pubs, and entertainment venues in the area. The largest local venue is the Forum in Kentish Town, three miles away. Previously known as the Town and Country Club, this has been one of London’s major live music venues for more than 20 years, hosting a wide variety of bands and performers, both from the UK and abroad.

Bruce Castle Museum is housed in a Grade 1 listed 16th-century manor house and set in 20 acres of parkland. First opened as a museum in 1906, Bruce Castle tells the history of the borough of Haringey.

For those who want to relax, check out the peaceful greenery of Finsbury Park, just two miles away. During the summer months, concerts are often held in the park.

Just a couple of miles from Tottenham in Kentish town is the Forum. Previously known as the Town and Country Club, this has been one of London’s premiere live music venues for more than 20 years.
